Just two days after the publication of the news that the Opel Ampera eliminates the, the company’s CEO, Karl-Thomas Neumann, confirmed by a series of tweets, the commitment of Opel to the idea of “eMobility”.
In three successive tweets, the Neumann said:
We see the “eMobility” as an important part of moving tomorrow and will continue to reduce its costs.
The next electric vehicle, we will be part of the massive renewal of our range with 27 new models in the period 2014-2018.
After the end of production of the current generation Ampera, will introduce the successor to the category of electric vehicles.
Clearer it can be done. Interestingly, however, have the last three words. The Neumann refers to “the category of electric vehicles” and not that of the hybrid. Apparently the announcement of CEO linked with the announcement that the LG will supply the batteries with new GM, but still do not know the details. Given that the model is expected to launch in 2016, the first information will not be long in coming.
