Report: The 2016MY Porsche Boxster & Cayman turbo engine lineup detailed

In previous report, Porsche chief Matthias Müller has already announced the mid-cycle revision for the Porsche Boxster and Cayman will bring a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and now British media CAR Magazine is providing additional details about the cars.

The base versions of 2016 Porsche Boxster and Cayman are bound to employ a flat-four 2.0-liter turbo with 240 bhp and the S versions as hotter model will comes with a 2.5-liter engine 300 bhp. While the Porsche Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS will have 2.5-liter flat-four turbocharged engine with output 370 bhp.

According to a configuration test page uncovered by Jalopnik, Ford Focus RS could starts from $35,730 when the hot hatch goes on sale in the US.

The page also revealed the Focus RS model will be available with a variety of options which will result in a fully loaded variant costing $42,275 – including a navigation system, a sunroof, and 19-inch “Premium painted forged alloy wheels with Michelin Cup” tires.

BMW Holland has introduced a limited series M235i Track Edition high-performance model which will be produced in a run of only 12 units.

The BMW M235i Track Edition will be available exclusively on the car market in the Netherlands and it offers a full M Performance bodykit with a prominent splitter, side skirts, new bootlid spoiler, rear diffuser, etc. Also included is a set of 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels.

Report: Lotus details model rollout

In an interview with Autovisie, Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales has shed some details regarding the scheduled product rollout until the end of the decade.

Gales announced plans to commence deliveries of the Lotus Evora 400 next month while towards the end of the year Lotus will introduce updated Lotus Evora and Exige which will comply with the Euro 6 regulations and is going to be followed by a revised Elise. While Lotus Evora 400 Roadster is going to be launched early 2016 and in February, Lotus plan on starting deliveries of the 3-Eleven.

Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche: “Mercedes considering an electric crossover”

An in interview with Autovisie, Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche has revealed he finds the idea of an electric crossover “interesting.”

The executive said the company, Mercedes, is considering an electric crossover and they’re currently studying the segment.

The electric crossover model from Mercedes would presumably compete with the Tesla Model X, he downplayed their former partner by saying they are “simply too small a player for us.”

Corvette Z06 by Callaway Cars produces 757 bhp

Recently, Callaway Cars announced power numbers and performance for the flagship model in their performance car lineup, Corvette Z06.

While the American tuner company had previously said their package would deliver “astounding power” to the car. Callaway Cars have now confirmed the tuning program for Corvette Z06 will enable the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine to produce 757 bhp (564 kW) and 777 lb/ft (1052 Nm) of torque – an increase of 107 bhp (79 kW) and 127 lb/ft (172 Nm). Thank you for the new power, the Z06 now can moves 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and run the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds at 131 mph (210 km/h).

Report: The next-gen Volvo V40 coming to US

According to recent news, the next-gen Volvo V40 which set to ride on the all-new C-segment Modular Architecture (CMA) will also be sold in the US following its launch sometime in 2016.

The next-generation Volvo V40 is being developed together with parent company Geely and now we have learned from Volvo’s senior vice president Alain Visser the car will be on display in United States dealerships where the new Volvo V40 will probably be sold as a 2017MY. The automaker are also analyzing the prospects of rolling out a LWB version of the V40 which if approved, the model will likely be tailored mostly to the Chinese market.

According to recent report, the German automaker VW Group managed to sell 5.04 million vehicles in the first half of the year, but the Japanese automaker Toyota is breathing down its neck.

VW vs Toyota, there was only a 20,000-vehicles gap between Volkswagen and Toyota, so it is a very close race for the global sales crown as in the first semester of 2015. Volkswagen AG (including MAN and Scania) shifted 5.04 million vehicles whereas Toyota (including Daihatsu and Hino) came in second with 5.02 million units.

Report: The next-generation Nissan Leaf could spawn crossover

It seems the Japanese carmaker wants to capitalize on the Nissan Leaf‘s growing success by introducing a crossover version based on the second-generation which is due 2016 or in 2017 at the latest. With introducing a crossover model makes sense since the crossover segment is still booming.

According to British media, Autocar, Nissan executive vice-president Trevor Mann believes there could be room to expand the Nissan Leaf sub-brand to include other bodystyles. “There could be more than one Leaf,” he said. “We’ve always said it needn’t be one car.
